Last night we took Logan to see “Walking with Dinosaurs”.  All I can say is that it was AMAZING!!!

Walking with Dinosaurs, based on an award-winning BBC  television series, is brought to life by Immersion Entertainment.

From their press release:

“Walking With Dinosaurs” is a live theatrical show that is performed in two acts with an intermission.

The arena is laid out with a proscenium stage at one end and the entire arena floor is our performing surface. Because the dinosaurs are the size they were in real life, the only venues large enough to accommodate them are arenas. We use both live and recorded video to enhance the scenes in the show; and the cinematic scope, dramatic lighting and symphonic sound used in the performance bring the creatures into three-dimensional reality as they walk around the arena floor.”

This show was totally mesmerizing, as they took us through the evolution of the dinosaurs.  To see them walking on stage, made you feel like you were actually there when they walked the earth.

Logan just LOVED the show, his bright blue eyes as wide as quarters the entire time!!

Walking with Dinosaurs is doing a North American tour and I urge you to go see it when they come to your area!!

I know that I say families should share.  This week my son shared his strep throat with me. It has been a rough week, but another lesson learned the hard way, seems that if I slip and get less sleep than I need, don’t eat right, and in general let myself get run-down, the universe sends me a reminder of what my life will be like without good self-care.  All I have to say is Message received loud and clear!!

I am happy to report that I am on the mend, feeling better and itching to see more signs of spring!

Remember to take good physical care of yourself, YOU ARE IMPORTANT!!

I just finished listening to a FABULOUS show on Heal Yourself Talk Radio.  Rebecca White and her guest Karly Randolph Pitman.  They talked about loving your body and loving yourself.  I encourage you all to stop by and listen, they were right on about the issues that women face when it comes to being able to love and accept your body!

Have you ever pulled up to a stop light and see someone in the car next to you that has the music blaring, singing at the top of their lungs, and probably not well?

I have an confession to make…that is me! I have loved music from a very early age thanks to my father. My father liked all kinds of different music and sang to it loud and proud. I remember my dad, mother, brother and me all gathered in the living room around the record player, playing all his favorite songs off the old vinyl records. We even had an old microphone that didn’t work that we took turns singing into. At Christmas time I can remember making the trek out to my great aunt and uncle’s farm as we looked at the twinkling Christmas lights, singing our hearts out.

So, why you might ask other the nostalgic reasons that I find music so powerful? I have found over the years that music and singing is one sure fire way to raise my vibration level, if I have a hard time getting going in the morning or am in a sour mood, singing to my favorite songs can help me turn it all around. Music therapy has been used in hospitals to:

“alleviate pain in conjunction with anesthesia or pain medication: elevate patients’ mood and counteract depression; promote movement for physical rehabilitation; calm or sedate, often to induce sleep; counteract apprehension or fear; and lesson muscle tension for the purpose of relaxation, including the autonomic nervous system.” (American Music Therapy Association)

It has also been use to help children overcome emotional problems and helped children with learning disabilities. Music therapy has been beneficial in psychiartic facilities helping people:

“explore personal feelings, make positive changes in mood and emotional states, have a sense of control over life through successful experiences, practice problem solving, and resolve conflicts leading to stronger family and peer relationships.” (American Music Therapy Association)

The AMTA (American Music Therapy Association) states that music therapy has also been beneficial in reducing stress, promoting physical exercise, and has been used during childbirth.

The next time that you need a little more pep or want to raise your vibration, put on some of your favorite music and SING!

We all have our own Mental Models, which are the organizations of related ideas in our memory, representing a person, object, idea, groups, etc.  These mental models that we have are what makes you, you.

Our mental models are created through our own life experiences, however, there is a difference between what we actually experience and what we tell ourselves what happened.

In psychology we call what we believe to be true in an experiment an hypothesis, then the hypothesis is tested through different experiments.  Some, times it is the hypothesis is proven and it is disproven. Sometimes there are things that we come to believe about ourselves that we never test to see if they are accurate.

A big part of changing how we view ourselves is to connect with our mental models and test them.

Can you really not do what you have told yourself all these years?

Are those negative things that you believe about yourself, really true?

Here is an exercise to help you figure out what are your mental models about yourself.

On a piece of paper number it 1-20, then on each line write “I am”, after you have written I am on all 20 lines then fill in the blanks.  After you are done, review the list.

What does it tell you about how you see yourself?

What model should you test to see if it is true?

I have been a student of the law of attraction for years, I even teach at the University of Prosperity on the first step in the law of attraction- forming a loving relationship with yourself. What I have found is that no matter how long you have studied whether it is a week or for years, there is always new lessons to be learned. There is also times when you need a recharge, a confirmation from your inner self that you are headed in the right direction, or a chance to realize that it is time for a change.

My good friends and fellow instructors at the University of Prosperity Kim Emerson and Jenn Givler started doing monthly Prosperity Mind-Set Seminar, really bringing the “secret” of the law of attraction to people that are ready to change their lives.

I have attended the last two and am eagerly awaiting their third coming up on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, 5pm pst / 6pm mst / 7pm cst / 8pm est. This seminar will focus on how to break thought patterns that no longer serve you, how to let go, and be open to receiving - to allow the things you want to come into your life.

I have had such wonderful breakthroughs in my life and such a deeper understanding of the law of attraction, and a renewed energy that I am able to design my life the way I have always dreamed it to be, each time that I have attended!!

This certainly has been a time of growth for me and Life By Design! In July, I started my own column at Women’s Online Magazine, called Journey to Self.

The journey to self is one of monumental importance. It is one that leads us to our true selves and allows us to start making our own dreams come true. Through the sometimes bumpy journey there are many things to learn, offering us a chance to open up to the real possibilities that lay at our feet. Journey to Self explores the steps that we take to find our true identity, to strengthen our sense of self, and to bring inner peace into our lives.

I am so excited to announce I will have my own Journey to Self radio segment on Womanly Insights!! The show is a live call in show and will run from 12pm CST (10am PST/1pm EST) to 1pm CST (11am PST/ 2pm EST) every Thursday starting August 9th!
