A Message from Tonya ~ Where has this summer gone?

I can’t believe that it is already August. The days by the pool are slowly coming to an end. I have had an incredible summer and feel myself reluctant to let go. This summer I have been able to work full time doing what I love with Life By Design. LBD has some excellent programs on the horizon and I feel grateful for the time to move Life By Design into some new areas that I feel drawn to, such as offering family management coaching and support as well as assistance, coaching and resources for individuals in business.

I am excited to be celebrating the one year anniversary of my Journey to Self. It is so empowering to see how far JTS has come in it’s first year. I have to admit when I started in August 2007 I had no idea that I was going to awaken another passion inside, but here I am a year later going strong!

Even though I have been on summer break from the University of Wisconsin, I have been taking classes to get certified as a Life and Breakthrough coach and will be starting classes to get certified as a Family Manager Coach very soon. I feel so grateful to Dr. Sally Witt and Coach Sarah Zeldman for helping me fulfill by pursuit of professional development. As reluctant as I am to say good-bye to summer I am also anxious to get back to classes at the UW to finish my last year.

I am about to see the incredible results of my hard work in school and my business. I have had a summer of abundance and am looking forward to an amazing fall…but not quite yet WE STILL HAVE 3 MORE WEEKS OF SUMMER LEFT, so if you haven’t get out there and enjoy it while you still can!

Encouraging our Youths on Journey to Self this week

What would our world be like without creativity and imagination? How would be find a way to balance between the sometime harshness of reality with the enjoyment of being whisked away into a different world where limits seem to melt away as the impossible is magically possible?

Where would we be without those creative thinkers? The true visionaries in history are men and women that thought “outside” the box and dared to go against convention to bring about a new light on an old problem.

As a mother I feel that one of the greatest gifts I can give to my son is to foster his imagination and help his creativity grow. Last week we talked about ways to help our children find their inner voice, become a cheerleader for themselves and others using the Yeah! Yeah! Out Loud (R) tools.

This week we are talking about how we can encourage creativity and imagination in our youth. I am joined this week by a very talented writer, Mollie Kehl Penrod, she is the author of “The Secret of Wellington’s Map” an young adult action adventure that was published in June 2008.

Tune in Thursday August 7th @ 10am pst/ 11am mnt/ 12pm cst/ 1pm est to kick off Journey to Self’s Birthday Bash with Mollie Kehl Penrod and fabulous information on how we can encourage the creativity and imagination in our youths. Listen LIVE at http://blogtalkradio.com/journeytoself.

As apart of Journey to Self’s Birthday Bash we will be giving away a prize during the show, so tune in and join our chat room for details.

Call in with questions for my guests during the show at (347) 215-8942.

Show notes and links to show archives will be available on the Journey to Self Site ~ http://journeytoself.info
