Realizing Your Power
By Tonya Ramsey

There are times in our lives that we can feel powerless over what is going on around us. It has been a rough month for me. Financially we are struggling, we are having issues with our phone/internet provider which has made working almost impossible, even something as simple as leaving the house has become a challenge due to the road construction in front of our house. It was like a cosmic domino effect had been put in motion leaving me to duck and dodge. I felt powerless with the culmination of everything that was going on, it seemed that everything that could go wrong was.  With everything moving so fast in my mind creating a whirlwind of gloom,  I turned to the Serenity Prayer:

God grant me the serenity to
accept the things I can not change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

I took some time to sit quietly and reflect, letting all the good in my life shine through this darkness that was surrounding me.  With everything going "wrong", I still had plenty in my life to be thankful for and I was able to grab hold of a better perspective.

The next step was to released to the Universe what I could not change, having faith that it too would be resolved soon enough. If I could not fix it or change it then there was no sense of hanging on to it.

The Laws of Attraction state that you get back what you put out to the universe and panic, powerlessness, and despair was pouring out of me. By taking control over my reactions to the this flood of bad news I changed that sending out more positive energy instead.

In our lives it is up to us to make the choice to realize the strength that we have in us to move forward.  We need to count our blessings, gain perspective, and make the choice to surrender what we can not change and embrace the the reality of what we do have control over.  All of  us have great power and when we learn how to apply it to our lives we claim what is ours, a life created by us that sustains us even when we feel powerless.

A Call to Action, Together We Can Change Our World
By Tonya Ramsey

One lesson that was drilled into me as a young adult is that you don’t talk about religion or politics. I suppose this is mostly because in my family you could pretty much bet on a discussion about either topic ending up in a heated argument with someone taking it too far. I think because of this, coupled with the fact that my father a diehard republican always found fault in my political views. Because of this I have built up an aversion to anything political, however it seems that now is the time for me to wake up and take notice.

I can't say that the economical state is something that can be ignored. Gas prices are sky-rocketing, health care is a mess, and working families are finding it harder and harder to make ends meet. It all is very overwhelming not to mention frustrating, leaving the average working person wondering when will those that are in power going to realize how hard it is for the average American.

I know that most people are so discouraged with the political system that this feeling of hopelessness takes over, but see that is what they want, they want people to drop out of staying up-to-date on political issues, because if the majority of the population isn’t paying attention, holding our elected officials accountable then they serve the best interest of others, which if history has taught us anything that is rarely the working class Americans.

As I was thinking about this the other day, I realized that there is a lot that we can do it help make a difference in our world. The most important first step is for us to raise our political awareness. We are in an election year, and it is important to become familiar with the issues, not only the big issues but the ones that effect us on a day to day basis.

Here are some ways that you can be involved in our democratic process and get your voice heard:

  • Become aware of the issues; know what it’s important to you!
  • Know how to contact each one of your representatives. http://www.visi.com/juan/congress. Sign up for your representatives newsletter, many legislators have their own newsletter that keeps their constituents up on what they are working on.
  • Know how the candidates/elected officials stand on the issues, also if they are up for re-election you can check their voting record on each issue and find what committees they belong to.
  • Become familiar when there are issues that you care about are coming up for a vote and contact your representatives to express how you want them to vote.
  • Start letter writing campaigns or petitions to show your representative there are people that care about the issue and how they vote for it
  • Adopt the attitude that you can help create change!!

"Don’t doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." ~ Margaret Mead.

Tips to Manifest the Life You Want

It is always a pleasure to talk with Marcy Neumann the visionary behind Heartlites Inc. on my May 15th Journey to Self show. We discussed how we can increase our power of manifesting. Marcy share some great tips on how to increase our chances of manifesting our dreams and shared how her products were designed to super-charge your manifesting power.

  • Before you can create what you want in your life you need to know that you deserve it. Affirmations can help you while you work on manifesting. Remember in order to attract healthy people to us we need to be healthy ourselves.
  • Visualizing is a powerful tool to facilitate making your dreams a reality.
  • It is important to identify where you are feeling blockage or obstacles. These issues could be leftover “programming” from earlier stages of your life. Give yourself permission to let go of what does not serve the betterment of your life.
  • Don’t forget that there are products/services to help you learn and improve the process of manifesting.
  • It is possible to have what you want in your life. After identifying what you want you need to take actions that will lead you to your goals.

Specifically, we are looking at making Mom’s Coffee Break chats, held on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month more accessible to those that would like to attend by finding a time that accommodates working mothers’ schedules.

Thank you in advance for your support and time in helping to make MCB the best it can be.
